**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Machine shop Operative to join our dynamic team.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Working closely as part of the machine shop manufacturing team through the supply of raw material to point of use, recording material batch information for traceability, supply and return of tool kits to the tool kitting area, disposal of waste materials, cleaning of machines and equipment, supporting the internal logistics of the machine shop and working with the machine shop team to ensure that their safe working conditions are maintained. Ensure that the standards of the machine shop are maintained by supporting the 5S requirements of the shop.

**What you’ll be doing**

Loading raw materials to their point of use in line with the production plan.

Removal and recycling of the waste material created during the manufacturing cycle. Working with the facilities team to arrange for collections.

Conduct regular testing of coolant and treatment of the liquids should this be required.

Assist in the removal and replacement of coolant from both the oil and water-based machines.

In collaboration with the facilities team undertake general maintenance duties including but not limited to Filter changes, Machine cleaning and the replacement of non-mechanical items.

Assist the tooling controller with the internal logistics of tooling control and maintenance.

Provide support and cover for the benching and washing operations.

Support the EHS team by undertaking monthly checks of machine shop personnel to ensure that their personal health and safety is maintained.

Ensure that all documentation is completed as required and in a timely manner.

Actively report near misses and support activities to deliver improvements.

Support and promote 5s activities within the workshop.
**Skills/Experience**:
A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment based within a machine shop.

Machining or engineering background would be an advantage

An ability to undertake the varied tasks the role requires

Have the ability to work with different stakeholders to achieve your goals
