Exciting opportunities have arisen and we are looking for 3 Careers Coaches to join the Fareham College Work Placement team. The role will be based either at the CEMAST(Lee-on-the-Solent) or Bishopsfield Road Campus (Fareham). The Careers Coach will be expected to manage classes of students within a curriculum area. The aim of the role is to support students leading up to and throughout the Industry Placement process. This may include sourcing potential placements, CV preparation, interview techniques, workplace expectations and any other support that learners may require in order to successfully achieve their placement hours. The Careers Coaches will continue to support the student and employer whilst out on placement to ensure expectations of the placement are met.

This is a term time only role (38 weeks per year) and is equivalent to a 0.84 FTE. Actual Salary £21,119

The role
- The key purpose of the role is to ensure our students are prepared for work placement.
- You will be responsible for a caseload of students to ensure successful completion of the work placement relevant to their course.
- You will be able to signpost students to relevant platforms to explore areas of the curriculum they would like further information on
- You will ensure that students are ‘work ready’ and understand expectations whilst out on a placement.
- You should have excellent communication skills and be able to engage with a range of stakeholders, including staff, managers and parents.
- Support students with the in-house system (Grofar) to support placements, set targets, log experiences and upload hours.
- You will work closely with the Work Placement Officers to ensure a smooth transition through the work placement process.
- You must be educated to at least a level 3 standard and experience of working in education would be beneficial.
