At our Plymouth site, we manufacture high quality products, which we then sterilize and package, to be sent to our UK HQ for distribution.

The location of our site is perfect as it’s close to the A38, with a bus stop close by which covers all of our shift times. We are also in an idyllic part of England with the beautiful coast and Dartmoor nearby.
**Assistant Buyer**
The Assistant Buyer supports a Strategic Buyer and our wider Operations team to deliver improved value for Olympus in Plymouth and give greater visibility on direct and indirect spend across the organisation.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Raise and process purchase orders and manage from process to delivery
- Maintain and update company databases and systems with product data
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of each product within the category
- Collate and prepare supplier performance KPIs and assist with generating information for supplier reviews
- Preparation of, running and assisting with RFQs (Requests for Quotation)
- Complete open order reporting and expediting PO acknowledgements to support wider team
- Help to set up and manage supplier service level agreements
- Review key competitors and identify new opportunities
- Manage and develop supplier relationships with daily correspondence
- Conduct product and market research
**Your Qualifications**
- Previous experience of buying or purchasing
- Previous experience of working within a Manufacturing environment is desirable or not essential
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to complete tasks with careful attention to detail and to a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
