**Automation Engineer**

**Bedlington**

**Salary: £28,000 - £38,000**

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be working with a leading electronics manufacturer based in Bedlington that specialises in microcircuit production for the aerospace and defence industries.

The facility, north of Newcastle upon Tyne, is home two specialist divisions: Sensors & Specialist Components and Power Electronics. Due to growth within the Sensors & Specialist Components division, an opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing AutomationEngineer to join the team.

**Automation Engineer responsibilities**:

- Program and debug automated vision systems (Keyence etc).
- Setup and maintain electrical measurement systems.
- Support the running of automated tape pack and XYZ probe machines.
- Support the running of High Voltage pulse testers.
- Develop an understanding of the production test machinery and become an in-house expert of its function and use.
- Support maintenance and sustaining teams in troubleshooting difficult equipment failures.
- Research, design, and develop equipment/ processes to optimise productivity and workflow.
- Assist with the commissioning of new equipment/ projects.
- Update/ produce technical documentation such as circuit diagrams, test procedures, and operating instructions.
- Identify and procure new equipment where required.
- Provide training and support to new production operators.

**Core Requirements**:

- Minimum HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good fault diagnosis skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team and independently when needed.
- A keen interest in software programming.
- Knowledge of Vision Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of remote instrumentation control.
- Practical electronics skills.
