**Purpose and Scope of the Role**

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join the Refugee Migrant Centre (RMC) as its HR Admin Officer/Executive Support. RMC is an established, award winning, regional charity, renowned for its work with refugees and migrants.

For over 23 years, RMC has assisted thousands of refugees and migrants from 162 countries. It has helped to remove the barriers to integration, helping its clients become equal citizens, using a whole-person approach to the delivery of services from specialist legal advice through to education and employment programmes.

The post holder will join RMC in the HR department and will work closely with key managers. This is an exciting time to be joining the team, as RMC are strengthening and expanding its infrastructure following a period of growth in staff, activities and turnover (from £776k to £2.8 million in the last 5 years).

**HR Tasks**
- Maintaining and updating the HR database internally for all employee records, such as absence & leave requests, leavers, sick/medical leave and personal information etc.
- Preparing statistics for HR Manager ie absence, equal opportunities
- Preparing and amending where necessary HR documents, i.e. employment contracts, offer letters and recruitment guides and induction packs.
- Assisting the Finance Department by providing the relevant employee information, i.e. new starter details, leavers, holiday and sick days taken.
- Ensure all necessary employment checks are carried out including DBS checks and right to work, qualifications and medical checks and references, on boarding and Induction.
- Administer the probation process ensuring Managers know when review meetings need to take place.
- Assist the HR Manager with coordinating HR processes including redundancies, disciplinary hearings, grievances etc.
- To provide all administrative support to the HR Manager
- Organising regular all staff briefings/huddles etc.
- Organise staff team building days
- Assist the HR Manager with wellbeing initiatives for staff
- Support the HR Manager with internal communications to staff

**Executive Support**
- If required to provide secretariat for Trustee Board meetings, including arranging meetings and taking minutes.

**A DBS check will be carried out for this post.**

CIPD Level 3 or 5

Clear commitment to undertaking CIPD qualification promptly after passing probation at RMC.

Minimum 3 years of work experience, in a similar role (HR Officer)

A proven high standard of communication skills, including written, oral, presentational and interpersonal skills

Educated to degree level or equivalent.

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to produce high quality written work to deadline, organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a demanding workload.
