**Job summary**:
We are looking for a Performance Support Officer to join the Aviation Security International Operations (ASIO) division.

**Job description**:
ASIO leads on high profile work to implement and improve the transport sector’s aviation security regimes, as well as working with international partners to raise global standards and build capability in priority countries. As the national security threats to aviation evolve, we are working across Department for Transport (DfT) to ensure that these issues are reflected in the Department’s work to ensure that we balance UK prosperity with security objectives.
As Performance Support Officer, you will support the creation of insight products which represent the performance of ASIO activity in its priority countries. You will collaborate with other teams to ensure the assessment data collected is of the highest quality. In this role you will quality assure the assessments of security capabilities in our priority countries, aligning with guidance established from international regulations to guarantee accuracy.
You will also work on continuously improving the established guidance and support the Associate Product Owner to maintain the data platform.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Gathering, validating, and analysing performance information relating to ASIO business performance both internally and externally.
- Identifying and addressing data reconciliation issues by collaborating closely with relevant teams and individuals, striving for effective solutions.
- Conducting data assurance across ASIO operations, ensuring compliance with agreed data collation standards.
- Performing quality assurance on all airport assessments and additional measures activities data, maintaining consistency between scores, narratives, and codified answers.
- Collaborating with the Insight and Product teams, sharing information and data, facilitating analysis, product development, and thematic activities.
- Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on aviation security data, providing comprehensive knowledge and expertise to ensure accuracy and reliability in assessment processes.
- Actively contributing insights to enhance the overall quality of assessment data and the established guidance that underpins the assessment programme.
- Monitoring and tracking organisational performance indicators, scorecards and dashboards against service quality and performance objectives.
- Reporting on performance metrics, ensuring ASIO leadership team are sighted on areas of sub-optimal outcomes.

You will have a high attention to detail and experience of quality assuring data to support decision making.
You will think innovatively and be confident to communicate any issues and solutions with teams across the division to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness in our delivery processes.
You will be organised, work well independently and as part of a team, and will enjoy collaborating across teams to share information and expertise. You will thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment where you can proactively take the initiative to identify and resolve data issues.
**Additional Information**
A minimum **60%** of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
Occasional travel to other DfT offices may be required.
As a division that works on threat-related issues, we expect our staff to work flexibly and adapt to rapidly changing requirements and priorities across the teams. The nature of the work means that the role may require out of hours working to respond to incidents.
