'111 Press 2’ Senior Clinician

Bank Position - Band 6 Senior Clinician ‘111 Press 2’ We are excited to share a new service development for Mental Health Services to improve access for people in crisis to speak with the right person at the right time to get the right support first time to our population within Cardiff and Vale UHB. You will be working via telephone andvideo calls providingeffective emotional support for people through the use of compassionate conversations and, when appropriate, encourage and guide effective self-management of emotional distress. This may also include signposting to support services or escalating for more senior/complex support as appropriate based on the needs. If you are a qualified Mental Health professional, e.g.,RNMH or RNLD or Occupational Therapist, or qualified Social Workereducated to degree level standard or equivalent level of experience and have evidence of Continuing Professional Development in an area of mental health or supporting people field we would like to hear from you. You should have experience of providing mental health or wellbeing support to people, able to work working autonomously and use your own initiative. Training on systems and processes including the services available will be provided and you will report to the ‘111 Press 2’ Operational Manager. The post-holder will work within a 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week mental health triage for those of any age phoning ‘111 Press 2’ whose mental health needs are deemed urgent and offer advice to individuals who have low level mental health problems. The post-holder will independently assess and provide high quality care and advice to patients with mental health problems as well as take decisions to signpost individuals onto appropriate community service support. The post holder will liaise closely with both Primary and Secondary Care Mental Health Services and Third Sector Organisations to ensure cohesive and purposeful pathways of care. There will be an expectation to produce evidence that can be used to inform future service design and commissioning of services. This will include using outcome measures, and promoting the highest possible utilisation of the service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
