Senior Mental Health Triage Clinician 111 Press 2
2 weeks ago
Are you a registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with extensive mental health experience, looking for a new opportunity to work in an organisation that will help you develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be? If so, you're in luck
We are proud to announce the implementation of the telephone based Mental Health Triage, 111 Press 2 service within Cardiff and the Vale. This is a new service, which has been integrated into the existing 111/ CAV24/7 service, and has been developed for people in mental health distress, to provide access to mental health support 24/7. Individuals calling 111 Press 2 are of all ages and have a broad range of mental health presentations including common mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety, low mood, emotional distress) and acute/major mental illness conditions (e.g. psychosis, bipolar disorder, high risk suicidal behaviours).
This service has a skill mix which will ensure callers can access the right level of advice and support for their condition and be connected to the best form of help, whether this is support with self-management, following existing care plans or onward referral to a mental health service (Inc. 3rd sector partner services) for routine, urgent or emergency intervention.
You will work within the existing CAV 24/7, who are the providers of urgent care within Cardiff and Vale UHB, and operates 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, on a 7.5-hour shift basis, within this historic Cardiff Royal Infirmary.
You will provide support and lead the Band 5 (non-registrant) Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, in assessing and triaging all mental health needs including common mental health problems and those more complex, acute, and high-risk presentations.
You will independently assess and provide high quality advice and care, and make decisions based on the individuals identified needs, to connect the patient to the right health care provision in a timely way, whilst ensuring excellent delivery of care through agreed clinical standards and frameworks.
You will liaise closely with both Primary and Secondary Care Mental Health Services and Third Sector Organisations to ensure cohesive and purposeful pathways of care. There will be an expectation to produce evidence that can be used to inform future service design and commissioning of services. This will include using outcome measures, and promoting the highest possible utilisation of the service.
We would welcome you to come and visit in advance.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
