What this role has to offer: In this important advisory role, you'll be impacting the business by driving all aspects of trade compliance to meet UK, US, German and other foreign regulatory requirements. You'll be empowered with the authority to manage the opportunities, challenges,and delivery of the role, with high profile exposure to senior and global stakeholders, internally and externally, including regulators, HMRC and MOD. There trade compliance function is on a transformative journey, giving you the scope to grow your careeras a specialist, into leadership, or broaden out into other disciplines. The Opportunity: The key purpose of the role is to assist in the promotion and implementation of import/export compliance within the UK (in addition to US, Germany and others), in accordance with all applicable laws & regulations, As a trusted advisor to the business, you'llbe part of an experienced centralised team advising key stakeholders to support bids and projects. Key responsibilities: You'll advise the relevant key stakeholders on the trade compliance requirements for imports and exports, with responsibilities including: - Review and where necessary approve, all trade compliance documentation e.g.: CECCs, End User Statements, DSP5s and other supplier licenses, TAAs, MLAs Sales Order/Contracts and Purchase Orders/Subcontracts/Purchase Agreements to establish trade compliancerequirements ensuring all relevant information has been included - Liaise with the company's internal functions to ensure US export legislation is implemented correctly, including guidance for Technology Control Plans, US export approvals, re-transfer authorisations etc. - Undertake appropriate checks for ITAR material (US suppliers) and DSP's - Manage the return of any temporary imports to meet international customs & licensing requirements - Manage customs authorisations and renewals - Prepare for and support regulatory and internal audits This organisation has a hybrid-working model that enables home working when this is suitable for the activities being conducted. There may be UK travel expected, typically at the frequency of once per month. About You: - Strong knowledge and experience with the UK and US export regulations (ITAR and EAR) and the UK customs regulations - A "can do" attitude - Good commercial awareness - Effective time management skills - Excellent attention to detail
