An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dynamic and committed individual to join our clinical education team. We are looking to appoint a Practice Educator who is an registered nurse, midwife or AHP who is passionate about making a difference in the development and support of our clinical workforce. You will work as part of a team tosupport the development of evidence-based clinical education and competence in line with within National, local and Trust policy and supportour clinical staff with their educational needs.
- Contributing to the delivery of core clinical education/training programmes including clinical induction programmes, resuscitation and moving and handling.
- Support, coaching and assessment in the workplace for various members of the clinical workforce.
- Supporting newly qualified Nurses and Nursing Associates in their transition to professional practice
- Supporting International Nurse recruits through the process of transitioning to working in an NHS environment and obtaining NMC registration.
- Working alongside directorate Nursing teams and specialists to provide tailored educational support to clinical teams as part of quality improvement and organisational change initiatives.
- Working with managers and other leaders within the organisation to formulate plans to meet identified educational needs for specific staff/groups.
- Create and deliver high fidelity simulation based learning opportunities to support educational initiatives.
- Provide training and assessment in the use of medical devices.

This post is an integral part of the clinical education team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be expected to work closely with other members of the team to plan, deliver, support and evaluate a range of educational initiatives across the organisation which may include

The post holder will be expected to contribute to educational quality assurance processes and to write reports for relevant trust committees

There is a clinical element to this role, which will mean providing active support to members of our clinical teams. The post holder will therefore be expected to establish and maintain their own clinical credibility and be expected to act as a role model and provide direct support to clinical team members as needed.

This is an innovative role and will require a post holder who is an expert communicator, a dynamic thinker, a problem solver, able to work independently but also able to work effectively as part of a team.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
1. Promote, demonstrate, educate, and encourage excellence in non-technical skills including high quality, effective communication skills within our clinical teams.
2. Communicate with a wide range of staff using a variety of methods to promote and deliver learning opportunities
3. Attend meetings and working groups, including deputising for other members of the Learning and Development Team as requested, and contribute to the development of papers/ reports as needed.
4. Promote learning activities and programmes and act as point of contact within the organisation for queries and advice relating to these.
5. Work closely with leaders and managers across the organisation to plan and deliver programmes to meet the learning needs of our clinical staff.

Responsibility for Patient Care/Clinical Duties
1. Demonstrate a high level of knowledge, skill and understanding of clinical practice within a range of clinical areas across the Trust, acting as resource and role model to a wide range of colleagues.
2. Act as a resource for clinical staff with respect to defined clinical topics, providing evidence based advice and guidance as required
