Qualifications Essential Criteria Core profession with valid registration of professional body e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker (NMC, BACP, HCPC). A masters degree or other equivalent post graduate accreditable qualification in a specific therapeutic modality e.g.
IAPT (CBT,IPT-A, family therapy). Evidence of ongoing Professional Development in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Experience Essential Criteria Experience of specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and young people with mental health problems and their families. Clinical experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
Experience of working autonomously utilising a range of therapeutic perspectives and modalities, depending on the needs of the client. Experience in providing risk assessment of self-harming behaviour and effective risk management plans and liaison with other relevant agencies. Experience of supervision of others as well as supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of junior staff and trainees. Must be able to develop and evaluate training to other professionals and staff groups.
Knowledge EssentialCriteria Knowledge of common mental health issues and evidence-based treatments. Knowledge of MH issues relating to CYP emotional development. Up to date knowledge of legislation related to children and/or adolescents mental health and social care e.g. Mental Health Act, Child Protection and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Children etc Knowledge of outcome measures for CYP.
Must demonstrate knowledge of audit and evaluation methodology. Skills and Abilities Essential criteria Skills in the use of complex methods of mental health assessment, intervention and management. Ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people. Ability to work autonomously in a community setting, making appropriate decisions in complex situations.
Must demonstrate a commitment to the overall vision of the development of the professional group of mental health practitioners in education settings. Ability to provide support and facilitate personal and professional development. Ability to manage own workload, organise own time and diary, and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain high-quality clinical records and excellent report writing skills.
