- This role has been categorised as _**_home-based_**_, meaning that you will work from home for the majority of the working week because you can fully deliver services in that way. Although you’ll be a home-based colleague, you might sometimes need to be physically present at another location or be expected to travel to a Thirteen hub for collaborative work. _

**The Role**:
We’re excited about this newly created role which will report directly into the Director of Finance and lead Thirteen’s major investment and asset accounting team. You will be supporting the Asset directorate to deliver the major repairs investment programme, which includes the need to ensure our homes are carbon neutral by 2050.

You’ll play an important role in supporting the strategic vision and growth of Thirteen, as a welcomed member of the senior management team you’ll directly influence the direction and success of Thirteen.

Leading a team of 4, the role will involve oversight and leadership of the Investment and Assets finance function, which will provide first class business partnering for the Asset directorate. The major repairs and investment programme of our homes will require investment of c£300m over the next 5 years alone and we need a finance leader that will ensure that there is timely and accurate management information to inform decision making around this programme. You will be expected to provide insight and challenge to influence investment outcomes and, importantly, will be able to translate the programme to meet the needs to our key financial stakeholders.

Other duties for the role will include contributing to the financial planning process, responsibility for asset financial reporting including both management accounts and the statutory notes in the annual financial statements, completion of regulatory returns, maintaining the asset security register, and preparation of reports to Thirteen Board and relevant Committees.

We’re looking for someone who always has their finger on the pulse when it comes to finances.

You'll be able to effectively lead a team and be a key specialist within major investment finance. You’ll be ambitious and customer focused striving for continuous improvement, whose decision making is data driven. You will ensure Thirteen’s Investment and Asset finance team remains dynamic and progressive.

It goes without saying that you’ll have strong communication skills with colleagues, customers, suppliers both written and verbal and a curious attention to detail. You’ll also have a recognised accounting qualification with significant post qualification experience.

You will have a track record in supporting organisations in making investment choices, providing reliable financial information to inform complex decisions. As a true collaborator you will build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to support and influence the optimal outcome.
