I am delighted to be exclusively assisting a growing product based SME business in the Gillingham area with their recruitment of a Financial Controller. This role is newly created and willplay a key part in the long term vision of the business (growthplan to go from circa £10m to £25m turnover). This person will manage a small finance team and directly report into the Managing Director. The business plans to grow via acquisition (acquisitions in the UK - ranging from £500K-£3m t/o). Upon achieving thedesired growth plans, it is highly likely the business will look to sell (leading to a circa six figure+ pay-out for the Financial Controller). In addition to this, the role will grow (as the company does). So this position is best suited to a Financial Controllerwho aspires to be a Finance Director in the future.

The day to day to role will involve the following:

- Production of group monthly management accounts & presenting to the board.
- Financial modelling and planning.
- Supporting with potential acquisitions.
- Lead the annual budgeting process.
- Manage the external audit.
- Cash flow management.
- KPI reporting.
- Responsibility for statutory returns.
- Line manage a small team (Management Accountant, Sales and Purchase Ledger & Credit Controller).

To be suitable for this role your profile will be similar to the following:

- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified (3+ years PQE).
- Driven and ambitious (willingness to work hard and develop to Finance Director level).
- Excellent communication/relationship building skills (technically strong but sufficient gravitas to hold their own at board level).
- Strong IT/Excel skills.
- Experience working for a product based business (preferable but not essential).

This position will pay a salary of circa £70,000-£80,000 (may be some flexibility for an outstanding applicant) + a discretionary bonus.
