Overview:
The Digital Deployment department sits under the Technology Directorate.

You will be a confident leader with the ability to empower and inspire teams and influence senior stakeholders to achieve high service standards and a strong performance culture by developing and sustaining best practice.

This role will develop and lead an effective and motivated Cloud and Network Engineer Team and will be responsible for overseeing a range of technical and process programmes of continuous improvement in response to changing security threats, risks and business needs.

The Team Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day priority setting and management of the team. They will co-ordinate workstreams and associated projects, identifying priorities and assisting the team with creating case for change proposals utilising structured risk and opportunity measurement. They will lead members of the Directorate and making change at pace, gathering information, testing solutions and coming up with continuous opportunities for improvement.

This role would suit an ambitious innovative individual with a can-do attitude when it comes to helping others and learning.

This role will support the proactive service improvement agenda of the Technology Directorate.

**Responsibilities**:
**Key Activities**:

- Lead, motivate, develop and manage the performance of the team.
- Responsible for the training and development of the team.
- Develop the teams reporting including work tracking, incident reporting, and their mechanisms for prioritising work amongst others.
- Oversea the tracking and reporting of their work taking the lead or contributing where required.
- Responsible for the day-to-day support of the infrastructure across all CGL sites, data centres and cloud services (Azure/O365 etc).
- Oversight of monitoring and alerting of systems
- Develop and maintain documentation, processes and work instructions surrounding the function.
- Define and implement coaching strategies to ensure effective day-to-day running and development of the Team.
- Understand the staff and identify who they are and what their needs are.
- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team by analysing any data and then propose/implement recommendations for improvement.
- Act as an escalation point for team members.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and peers across IT and the business to ensure teams are working seamlessly together to give the best service and delivery.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Technical knowledge on infrastructure across technologies
- Strong experience of team management
- Experience and ability to lead/manage major incidents independently
- Experience in hands-on IT roles
- Knowledge and experience of project management
- ITIL Foundation qualified or strong knowledge of, preferred
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- High level of self-motivation.
- Excellent communication skills
- Delivery output focused
- Passion for technology
- Preferred Cloud computing experience; O365, Azure, Microsoft Teams
- Security products
- Technical documentation and report writing
