Build Labourer

**How you will help us to make Zzoomm awesome.**:
You will be working as part of a network Civil team engaged in excavating trench-lines and installing ducts through BTOR existing infrastructure that will be used to run fibre-optic cables between Zzoomm communications cabinets and points of termination at end-user premises.

Your job will be to carry out tasks at our depot and at working sites that allow the works to be completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard of quality. This will involve delivering and setting up site signage and guarding in compliance with NRSWA regulations and keeping the site operating with mínimal disruption to the public. You will assist with moving equipment and materials around the site, sweeping and shovelling around the excavation to help prepare for reinstatement work and keeping sites set up in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Our Zzoomm network will be built in urban and sub-urban areas which means that your working environment will be where people live and work. That means that you are the face of Zzoomm during the build phase and we will rely on you to minimise the disruption that our work will cause and do everything you can to promote a positive image and develop good relationships with local residents.

We see the build labourer role as an entry level position into Zzoomm and we will provide training and development opportunities to allow individuals to progress to more skilled roles if they want to take advantage of career opportunities as they arise.

**Who will guide me.**

You will be guided throughout the day by the Build Supervisors and Civils Avoidance Gangers, but you will be expected to usually know what needs to be done and organise yourself to get on and do it (that said, there will always be somebody to ask if you’re not sure about anything).

**A day in the life of the **Build Labourer...**

Your day will usually start at a local depot where you will pick up the machinery and equipment needed for that day’s work. Working as part of a Civils Crew you will ensure that people, plant and materials are transported to site ready to set up and start work on schedule.

You will carry out general labouring work in line with work instructions and method statements provided to you but we will rely on you to maintain vigilance to identify what else needs to be done to keep the site operating smoothly and efficiently

We will expect you and your team to work in such a way that disruption to the public is minimised and every opportunity to show Zzoomm as a considerate organisation is taken and our reputation is enhanced.
