International Operator

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our international freight forwarding company as an International Operator. LEMAN UK is part of the LEMAN Group and employs over 100 staff across 2 depots in the UK.

What we expect:

- Providing high quality customer service
- Identifying new sales opportunities
- Generating new relationships with regional hauliers
- Developing and growing the business in your assigned area
- Responds to queries and requests from customers
- Arranges transport in line with current legislation
- Liaises with third parties such as shipper, consignee or nominated contacts ensuring transportation details are correct
- Forms strong working relationships with international partners
- Considering and planning the most effective route for freight
- Organising the transportation of freight between several destinations - usually cargo terminals, port facilities etc
- Maintaining a strong line of communication with the customer, keeping them up to date with the progress of goods
- Taking appropriate measurements for movement of delicate goods
- Complying with countries legal requirements and ensuring appropriate documentation is completed
- Keeping up to date with legislative changes that may impact the transportation of freight
- Negotiation of rates with suppliers and customers and arranging suitable vehicles / transport arrangements
- Communicating effectively with the wider operational depart

Qualifications/ Experience:

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
- GCSE in Maths & English
- Some experience from a similar environment preferred
- Good communication & customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure & cope during high volume peaks
- Good team player with ability to work on individual tasks
- Ambitious with a view to progress within the company
