We have an opportunity for a Locker Coordinator to join our team at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater Somerset.
This is an exciting time to join the G4S Facilities Management Team at Hinkley Point C. We are three years into our ten year contract, working on the largest construction site in Europe.
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities, up to 1,000 apprenticeships and 64% of the project’s construction value is predicted to go to UK companies. There are currently over 4,000 workers on site.
This is a full time role working 40 hours per week working various shifts. The salary for this role is £32,960 per annum.
As Locker Coordinator, you will be responsible for overall management of all lockers in the welfare buildings at HPC. The primary focus of the Locker Coordinator is to ensure all lockers on site are in regular use, maximising availability for both Client and contractors, whilst ensuring all leavers are quickly identified while following an agreed process for emptying contents and reclaiming. This will be achieved by effectively planning, coordinating and overseeing the Locker Supervisor and operatives on a daily basis. The Locker Coordinator will liaise with the Head of Soft Services, our Client and the Trade Unions at HPC to effectively communicate and resolve all issues impeding the locker department.
The Locker Coordinator will have an excellent understanding of the database recording the availability and occupants of all lockers. They will be confident in producing and distributing reports containing data regarding over 20,000+ lockers and be capable of providing detailed commentary to senior client stakeholders, Trade Union representatives and colleagues at HPC.
**Key Responsibilities of this role are**:
- Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the Client that is driven by delivering service excellence and achieving KPI targets.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with the Trade Union representatives at HPC, to support the daily function of the locker department.
- Work closely with the Head of Soft Services, client stakeholders and the hard services team to effectively coordinate the installation of new locker buildings at HPC.
- To communicate with all Tier 1 contractors and HPC managers to ensure that all workers are aware of the locker and changing room policies and procedures.
- To organise the daily workload of the Locker Supervisor and Operatives in a way that maximizes efficiency and productivity.
- Have the ability to manage expectations, find solutions and overcome problems.
- To allocate and manage all personnel lockers as approved and required to be assigned to individual workers at HPC throughout the life of the construction, whilst ensuring all lockers are individually and accurately numbered.
- Responsible for the reallocation of combination lock codes and the allocation of master keys when a worker forgets the combination for their own padlock.
- To keep accurate records and update the client of all personnel who have left site without returning their padlock or keys.
- Ensure all lockers are fit for purpose and report any defects in a timely manner.
- Maintain and monitor locker allocation/availability using a space planning software (Excitech, or similar product).
- To complete daily, weekly and monthly locker audits for internal distribution and the client.
- To actively suggest, promote and deliver new methods of working which will enhance the level of service delivered to all users. To confidently articulate these proposals to our client in person or via written communication.
