An opportunity has arisen at our Darlington site for a Production Assistant to work in our Printing hall.

Hours of work will be double day shift rotation (40 hours) Mon - Fri 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm

The primary role of a Production Assistant is to deliver material to the digital press and to assist the Printer to ensure targets and quality standards are achieved.

**The main duties of the role are to**:
- Comply with the Company Health & Safety, Hygiene & Environmental standards at all times.
- Manage all aspects of material handling for the digital press including pallet movements to and from the press using both counterbalance & hand pallet trucks.
- Feed boards from pallets into the digital press to ensure continuous running.
- Use correct manual handling techniques and safe use of hand operated pallet trucks.
- Work closely with the Printer and support with other duties where necessary to ensure machine targets are met.
- Practice a clean as you go policy & ensure the machine & surrounding areas are kept clean & tidy.

**To succeed in this role you will need:

- **
- A current FLT Counterbalance licence.
- Experience of operating hand pallet trucks.
- Experience of material handling in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment, preferably within a packaging/FMCG industry.
- Experience of using the correct manual handling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work to targets and achieve results.
- An excellent team working ethic.
- A good working knowledge of Health & Safety, Hygiene and Environmental practices.
