We are currently recruiting for a passionate Room Leader to join our wonderful Small Steps Day Nursery and Pre-school, we have been situated in the heart of West Kirby, Wirral for 15 years.

Our Nursery is proudly rated “Good” by Ofsted, and is based within a beautiful, building, close to the local beach, with free parking and good transport links.

The well-established setting offers well equipped rooms, with each having its own garden area

**Responsibilities**
- Pre-school Leader must at all times ensure the safety, care, welfare and happiness of the children in the nursery
- Must have experience working as a Team Leader/Supervisor or above in a educational setting
- Experience of working in partnership with parents
- Experience of managing/supervising staff, WITH extensive knowledge of Safeguarding and procedures.
- Lead mentor and inspire a team to deliver the highest care and educations standards and support and carryout 1-1 meetings and supervisions to support checking staff knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures and child development and EYFS
- Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted
- You must have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
- You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be
- The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential.
- Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving children is of the utmost importance.
- Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families and help all children in their care to achieve the best start they can with us.
Safeguarding children's welfare is paramount you must ensure that the safety and welfare of the children is at the centre of all that you do within Small Steps.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification, equivalent or above.
- Post qualification experience in working in early education and childcare.
- Ability to inspire people to deliver results, high standards and set clear objectives for self and the team.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £9.50 per hour
