Children's Residential Support Worker

**Role Overview**
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people residing in our residential care setting. Your primary responsibility is to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and educationally. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care that promotes independence, resilience, and personal growth.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Direct Care & Support**: Assist children with daily routines, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- **Emotional & Behavioural Support**: Build positive, trusting relationships with children, offering emotional support and guidance. Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours, practice consistency and promote stability to reduce anxieties and unregulated behaviours in the home.
- **Educational & Developmental Assistance**: Support children's educational activities, including homework and school engagement. Encourage participation in recreational and social activities to promote personal development and life skills.
- **Safeguarding & Risk Management**: Ensure the safety and well-being of children by adhering to safeguarding protocols and reporting any concerns promptly.
- **Record Keeping & Reporting**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, incidents, and observations in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, Social Workers, Youth Offending Teams (YOT), Therapists, and other professionals to deliver coordinated care.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- **Required**: Enhanced DBS check, full employment history review and eligibility to work in the UK.
- **Required**: You will be required to undertake the completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare if you do not already have this, or the equivalent.
- **Desirable**: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
- **Desirable**: Experience working with children or young people in a care setting is advantageous.
**Working Conditions**
- **Hours**: Full-time position with shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.

Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
