If so, we have a 12 months secondment opportunity for a senior mental health nurse wanting to gain some experience or further their experience in inpatient CAMHS to join our team at the Coborn Centre in East London.
The client group is varied and challenging. Young people present with eating disorders, psychosis, low mood, anxiety disorders such as OCD and emotion regulation difficulties. Young people may also have autism or learning difficulties or be in need of an assessment. Young people may also have physical health needs. We work alongside an eclectic and dynamic multi-disciplinary staff group including family therapists, an art therapist, a drama therapist, social workers, nursing, occupational therapists and many more.
You will join the nursing team which consists of one ward manager, a group of nursing team including clinical team leaders, nurses, support workers and life skills recovery workers. You will be working closely with a wide range of MDT members and closely with the three consultants. You will continue to develop the nursing team through providing supervision as well as hold a clinical case load. There will be considerable opportunities for developing your clinical leadership skills, sharing your clinical expertise and developing your capacity to enjoy multi-disciplinary team working. We would value your input to our quality improvement programme, and the development of a leadership role within the nursing team. The Coborn Centre is located in well resourced, purpose built premises at Newham University Hospital. We work with 12-18 year old young people and their families across the North Central East London. The Centre comprises of 12 acute beds, 15 intensive care beds and up to 9 day patient places. The service has led the way in the design of adolescent mental health facilities nationally. We have been awarded an outstanding by the CQC.
You will ensure high quality individualized person centre standards of care are delivered to all patients
You will ensure the effective supervision and development of staff
To work and act as a key member of the team.
You will be supporting each patient with achieving their planned outcomes
To take a lead on developing and maintaining communication with patients relatives, families and carers, to support them to support patients goals
You will take part in the on-call manager rota to support the team out of hours.
To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for patients.
