2022 Climate and Resilience Hub Internship
2 weeks ago
The Climate and Resilience Hub (CRH) is the focal point for our climate expertise and capabilities, pooling knowledge from across our people, risk and capital businesses and from our collaborations to deliver climate and resilience solutions in response to a range of regulatory, investor, consumer, employee and operating pressures. Under the **Climate Quantified** brand we deliver analytics, advice and transactions to enable corporate, finance and public sector institutions to embrace the climate decade ahead.
Concerns around climate-related legal risks are reshaping the business landscape across every economic sector and are rapidly shifting the decision-making context in which organisations are operating. These legal risks, that may relate to both low-carbon transition risks and physical climate risks, can arise from new climate-related regulations, laws, and litigation, as well as compliance with existing law. Addressing climate-related legal risks - as they materialise through operations, markets, value chains, and transactions - can help to reduce material financial losses, optimise corporate strategy, and unlock new opportunities for growth.
The WTW CRH sits at the centre of these developments. Our objective is to provide a unique suite of expertise in the domain of climate liability risk through best-in-class advice, analytics, and partnerships. As we grow our business and team, this is an exciting opportunity to participate in shaping how the world will manage climate liability risk over the decades to come.
**Responsibilities for this role include**:
- Actively support and engage in CRH's corporate and climate liability work.
- Take a proactive role in business development, i.e., identify opportunities, develop understanding of different client needs, support proposal writing, and contribute to the delivery of winning bids and other related activities
- Carry-out cutting-edge analysis of climate liability risks and opportunities for corporates and financial institutions
- Produce high-quality materials, written documents, and presentations to short deadlines
- Help our managers develop, maintain, coordinate and facilitate strong relationships and good communication with business partners, clients, and team members
- Support knowledge sharing and capacity building regarding climate liability across WTW.
**The Requirements**
- An insightful, independent, analytical mind, with a passion for climate change
- Some understanding of the legal dimensions of climate change (incl. international climate change law, legislation and litigation) and of the climate-related legal exposures of companies
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, i.e., ability to translate complex ideas into cohesive narrative and communicate methods, results and recommendations from analysis to expert and non-technical audiences
- Self-starter, ability to juggle multiple complex tasks at the same time
- Professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and ability to interact with a diverse group of people
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Climate and Resilience Hub of WTW
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (such as law, science/climate change, climate policy/governance, geography)
