Estates, Equipment, Consumables & Logistics (EECL)

The initial objective of the Estates, Equipment, Consumables and Logistics (EECL) workstream within the Vaccine Deployment Programme was to ensure setup of sites, sourcing and supply of all centrally procured items and delivery of the logistics and supply chain to support the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Programme Objectives

The main purpose and goal of EECL team is to manage inbound vaccines, build coverage and capacity in the regions to enable convenience to patients, strategically allocate vaccine types in accordance with JCVI / MHRA guidance, and distribute them expediently and equitably.

About the Role
As an Order Processing Quality Control Lead, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic Logistics team, interfacing with the Supply & Demand team. You will be responsible for the planning, ordering, fulfilment and reporting of vaccine and non0vaccine supply. The purpose of the role is to ensure the timely, accurate ordering of vaccines, consumables and equipment.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Processing all orders accurately within the ordering platform and on time to the agreed allocation.
- Executing quality checks across all orders being placed, to ensure accuracy of order files and alignment with ordering requirements and other systems.
- Managing changes to orders and communicate them effectively across EECL, suppliers and customers.
- Managing the set-up of new sites by reviewing demand and processing their orders to ensure goods arrive on time.
- Conducting investigations where required, to understand missed / failed deliveries.
- Liaising with operations, suppliers, ordering and warehouse teams to ensure we offer best service to customers, responding to feedback and proposing improvements.
- Reporting and escalating system defects/bugs as and when they are identified.
- Liaising with ordering platform engineers & improvement teams to support any fixes or system improvements.
- Supporting the implementation of systems improvements.

Why join the team

**Making a real impact**: The roles present a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of one the most successful programmes the UK government has run and to be involved in making an impact on the future of England’s immunisation programme.

**Critical Impact of Supply Chain**: Supply Chain is a massive strategic priority for everyone, and the NHS is no exception. An efficient and resilient healthcare supply chain is essential to combatting rising costs and disruptions which impact the frontline and patient outcomes.

**Cross functional exposure**: This is an exciting opportunity to work in a national programme that’s truly cross functional with exposure to teams raging from clinical care and operations to communications, especially at this critical point when the government is investing heavily to ensure we have the capability to cope with similar viral airborne pandemics in the future.

**World class training**: Benefit from a structured onboarding that links you into the EECL team from Day 1. EECL is a highly technical team that works with a range of purpose-built systems. As a new joiner you will have access to a custom Digital Toolkit designed to provide the foundational knowledge required before stepping into your new role. The dynamic and interactive Toolkit gives an overview of all EECL’s teams’ responsibilities, through animation, text and system walkthroughs. It’s a resource designed for you to return to again and again as you grow your confidence in your role.
