We are now looking to expand our well-established purchasing team by hiring a Materials controller to join us here at Nexperia Newport. This is a Junior level yet crucial role within our purchasing team that will evolve over time and allow you to progress quickly due to our expansion and nature of product.

What you will do

As materials coordinator you will be responsible for the upkeep and control of supplier effectiveness in maintaining the ability to supply materials in-line with business demands. This role will also include commodity ownership and will provide a clear line of progression through learning and taking on additional responsibilities over time. You will monitor and analyse supplier effectiveness, work on continuous improvement projects, and develop new reporting tools. This exciting role will also involve building and maintaining relationships not only with externally, but similarly amongst internal stakeholders at all levels - Both Local & Global.

Main Duties include:

- Expediting purchase orders & purchase order confirmations with Vendors and updating the ERP system
- Resolving / reducing Goods-In and Finance queries for Materials team
- Supporting materials improvement projects, whilst supporting tracking and reporting of material team KPIs.
- Ownership and management of a small number of suppliers and stock items
- Placing purchase orders and mitigate supply issues
- Supporting in the sourcing of materials and consumables
- Maintain/update parameters within the ERP/MRP system
- Liaising with inbound transport and customs as required
- Arranging material returns to suppliers as required
- Analysing impact of supplier performance (OTIF)
- Analysing impact of supplier increases as required and providing analysis to buyers.

What you need to know

You will also need the below:

- Proficiency in MS office package with advance Excel skills
- Self motivated and able to prioritise work effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Desire to learn and progress within a growing organisation
