Assistant Clothing Designer

**This would suit someone who**:

- Is a recent fashion graduate with a relevant design degree
- Has 1 year professional experience in clothing design and development
- Is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
- Is looking for full time work in a successful ecommerce business
- Is able to commute to our location just off the M56

**What you’ll be responsible for assisting with**:

- Conducting relevant market research
- Trend research and competitor shopping
- Compiling mood boards for overall concept and design direction
- Supporting the Designer during key design meetings and presentations
- Translating inspiration into thoughtful and commercial designs
- Creating and updating CAD range plans
- Designing for seasonal and long-term dancewear ranges, creating, presenting and producing commercial designs
- Presenting direction and designs to wider team and business when necessary
- Accurately producing detailed tech packs for suppliers to enable them to efficiently develop samples
- Maintaining our brand identity and values and develop these further within our product offering
- Working closely with suppliers to establish any new fabrics or yarns for designs for the new season and arrange swatches
- Communicating with suppliers to follow sampling process through critical path milestones and ensure correct execution of samples and trims
- Arranging, reviewing and approving lab dips and print strike offs
- Problem-solving during fit sessions
- Updating product range plans with style/colour codes and descriptions
- Updating critical path with key design/development stages
- Continuously maintaining and organising swatch library and sample room
- Supporting the wider product team and work closely with the Buyer, Product Development Manager, Designer, Garment Technologists and QC to ensure products are delivered to the highest standard

**You will demonstrate the following skills and behaviours**:

- A relevant design degree in fashion design or similar
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Strong CAD skills; proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
- Garment construction knowledge
- Accomplished communication, organisation and presentation skills
- A good knowledge of fabric and materials
- Excellent attention to the finer detail
- Problem solving skills
- Ambition to drive the progress of ranges
- Natural creative flair, enthusiastic and passionate about product and design
- Proactive with a positive can-do attitude and great time-management skills
- A strong team player and considerate of colleagues
- Confident, friendly attitude

**We will offer you**:
