**37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**

As our **SEND Academic Coach**,** **you** **will work in a variety of educational settings, working closely with mainstream and SEND learners in their day-to-day learning, including helping plan lessons that contain accessible opportunities for learning at all ability levels.

The post holder will utilise their knowledge of learning support, communication skills and creativity to develop a varied approach helping learners with Special Education Needs and Disabilities and mainstream foundation learning to understand the information presented and supporting them throughout their education.

The post holder will have a passion for inspiring learenrs to enjoy learning, encouraging them to take pride in their achievements, be confident in their abilities and play an active role in college life. Using a mix of resources to assist you to broaden a learner understanding and develop innovative ways to provide a supportive learning environment, where learners can expand their knowledge.

**Responsibilities of our** **SEND Academic Coach**:

- To ensure that all records are compliant and in line with the colleges policies and expectations
- To use the college IT systems as directed and promote the use of digital skills with colleagues and learners
- Supervise learners with SEND and ALN, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities and understand the information presented
- To provide an inclusive learning environment and programme, embedding enrichment activities through-out their curriculum planning, these should include internal and external enrichment opportunities
- Provide appropriate information, careers advice and guidance to learners, employers, agencies and prospective learners
- Contribute to regional and cross-regional promotional events and local college open events as required
- Deliver learning, training, coaching and assessment to meet the needs of learners and to the standards set by awarding bodies or end point assessments
- Review and monitor learner progress and achievement of all elements including Functional Skills and GCSE to ensure the standard is achieved or end point assessment is taken and passed timely
- To provide individualised programmes to meet the needs of all learners to ensure learners develop new skills, knowledge and behaviours
- Promote inclusion and acceptance, support diversity and ensure pupils have equal access to learning and development
- Follow child protection, health, safety, security, confidentiality and data protection policies and procedures, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person
- Provide feedback to learners, parents and carers about their progress, achievements

**What we’re looking for in our** **SEND Academic Coach**:

- Maths and English to at least level 2 (or to be achieved within 6 months)
- Experience of working with SEND learners
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, autonomously and the ability to work to deadlines and meet targets
- Communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work as and when required
