An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Programme Support Administrator in the NW School of General Practice/Primary Care, the largest of its kind in the country. GP Training is experiencing a fast-paced period of expansion and transformation, and this is a busy and varied role which underpins the support of our GP Doctors in Training, the development of our Educator community, and the retention of fully-qualified GPs and other primary care professionals across the North West.
The GP School/Primary Care Programme Team holds a national staff recognition award “for always being a vibrant community of talent and flexibility; they showed extra resilience, patience, and innovation to ensure the quality of the work delivered by the school has remained excellent”. We are therefore looking for a team player, as the willingness to support other members of our forward-thinking and friendly team is vital.
If you are motivated, driven, and hardworking with a ‘can-do’ attitude, an eye for detail and fantastic organisation skills, this could be an ideal opportunity for you. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who can manage and prioritise their own workload within a fast-paced environment. A good working knowledge of Office365, including Microsoft Office and the ability to manipulate information from a variety of sources is essential. It is important that the post holder has excellent communication skills and can deal sensitively with people at all levels.
The post-holder will provide effective and efficient administrative support to the School of General Practice/Primary Care across a number of areas, including:
Organising and facilitating events and courses for GP Educators and Doctors in Training (Face to Face and virtual) and keeping digital course resources up to date
Updating the GP trainer database and the GMC Connect system
Supporting Annual Review of Competency Progression (ARCP) panels and rotations for Doctors in Training
Providing secretariat support for meetings encompassing diary management, agenda collation, taking minutes and oversight of action logs where applicable
Supporting key workstreams within General Practice and Primary Care
Being a key point of contact within NHS England for external stakeholders, including learners, trainers and external organisations
Supporting a busy shared inbox
Helping to ensure that the education delivered to all Doctors in Training is of a consistently high quality
Working with a wide range of internal and external colleagues to support the work of the School
Ensuring consistent, accurate and high-quality information exchange and communication
Leading on specific projects or events as requested
The NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
Delivering value for money.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
You can find full details of the role within the attached job description.
Your formal office base can be either Piccadilly Place in Manchester or Regatta Place in Liverpool, however you may be required to travel across the North West region to support courses and events. We anticipate that you will spend 2 days per week in the office, and work remotely for the remainder.
