**About Us**

Defected Records is an independent British record label specialising in house music recordings, an internationally syndicated broadcasting platform, events, publishing, marketing, and artist booking. Established in 1999 by former AM: PM and Cooltempo A&R Simon Dunmore, Defected has a number of sub-labels including DFTD, 4 To The Floor, Glitterbox, Classic Music Company, Sondela, Faith, D4 D4NCE, and The Remedy Project. Defected also owns and manages over 30 catalogues for heritage house imprints. The Defected catalogue includes singles from artists such as Bob Sinclar, CamelPhat, Kings of Tomorrow, Masters At Work, Dennis Ferrer, Mike Dunn, MK and more recently The Martinez Brothers, Boys Noize, Peggy Gou, Jamie Jones, Honey Dijon, Gorgon City, Purple Disco Machine, Vintage Culture, and many more.

Defected run events globally including stages at major music festivals and standalone club nights, as well as residencies in Ibiza since 2003. They also host Defected festivals in London, Croatia and Malta, drawing people from the UK, Australia, North America, South Africa and all corners of Europe.

This role is to work with DStore, our online merchandise outlet for Defected Records, selling apparel and vinyl to a worldwide audience.

**The Role**

We’re a small team and are looking for a bright, energetic all-rounder to support across all areas of the business. You’ll need to have an eye for detail when checking over the website and stock, be fast thinking to handle new problems and customer queries, hard-working and responsible.

We’re looking for someone who really cares about our business and is focused on delivering a first-class service to our customers. Initiative is key, coupled with excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.

**Key Responsibilities**

**General Duties**
- Processing and fulfilling orders of vinyl and apparel in the stock room.
- Dealing with parcels/post/returns and liaising with couriers to arrange for prompt delivery/collection and ensuring items are appropriately packaged and labelled.
- Helping to manage and maintain the office (for example, ordering supplies online, daily upkeep, etc)
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure we work effectively across key departments
- Assisting the team at events when DStore is selling direct to customer (for example, at the Defected London Festival)

**DStore**
- Supporting the team with the day-to-day operations on our website: DStore, such as overseeing the customer journey and identifying and resolving technical faults (with support from our IT team)
- Managing the product catalogue and categorisation so that all items are accurately represented and labelled in line with our brand guidelines.
- Keeping accurate records of our virtual stock and managing availability
- Supporting with the uploading and merchandising of our virtual stock (ensuring to input new stock online promptly so everything remains up-to-date)

**Customer Service**
- Answering inbound customer queries promptly and professionally both over the phone and online with excellent communication skills
- Resolve all customer issues and escalate to the relevant manager/department if necessary
- Advise customers on products and orders such as recommendations and delivery times.
- Be a friendly first-port-of-call so customers have a good experience with us

**Essential Experience**:

- An interest and understanding of buying goods online so that you can help create a smooth journey for customers.
- Strong communication skills and an understanding of good customer service to help efficiently resolve queries.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Suite (outlook, word, excel)
- You must be a confident tech user and a quick learner (we will train you on the platforms we use, however we expect you to hit the ground running)
- You must be able to physically lift, move and count stock
- An interest and understanding of the music/fashion/entertainment industry
- Strong warehouse/stock/merchandise experience

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week
