**Job Details**

The role of the Technical Inspector is to provide an inspection service to ensure that roads, footways, cycle routes and footpaths are maintained to a safe standard allowing consistent safe passage of network users.

Main duties will include:

- Undertaking inspections and surveys to ensure that roads, footways, cycle routes, car parks and footpaths are maintained safely.
- Assisting in the coordination, administration, licensing, management & enforcement of activities affecting the road.
- Assisting in roads management functions and maintenance of assets.
- Ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
- Supervising the activities of Contractors and Sub-Contractors.

**The Person**

Experience within Local Government and of roads functions is essential, including an understanding of Roads Scotland Act 1984 & New Roads And Street works Act 1991

You should be able to work as part of a team or on your own as required.
