The department of Physics is looking for a full-time Electronics Specialist, to provide expertise in the busy electronics workshop. It presents an exciting opportunity to be involved in pioneering global research, technologies and supporting teaching activities in a Russell Group University.

**Role**:
As part of a team, you will facilitate the design, development, construction, modification and repairs to a wide variety of standard and specialised electronic/electrical equipment. Work is diverse and includes: Schematic capture and PCB layout, 3D CAD modelling, 3D printing, repair and maintenance of existing equipment _e.g._ radio telescopes, electron microscopes _etc._, providing advice on electronic/electrical issues and PAT testing. A detailed knowledge of electronics and the ability to perform practical tasks are essential for the post. The role presents an exciting opportunity to be involved in pioneering global research, technologies and supporting teaching activities in a Russell Group University.

**Skills, Experience & Qualification needed**:

- Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or appropriate experience;
- In depth knowledge of analogue and digital electronics down to component level;
- In depth knowledge of electronic test and measurement equipment;
- Ability to design, construct, repair and maintain complex analogue and digital electronic equipment, including the design of printed circuit boards;
- Demonstrable experience of designing and constructing electronic equipment;
- Demonstrable, in depth experience of maintaining/repairing a range of electronic equipment;
