**Instructional Design Specialist**

We have an exciting opportunity for an Instructional Design Specialist to join our fantastic Learning & Development team

You should be comfortable developing content that supports the enhancement of technical capabilities and designing learning content for front line staff and team leaders within our field operations and supporting functions.

**The Role**:

- Be the lead designer on major and cross business unit design projects, accountable for ensuring the design meets the needs, strategy and goals of the business units involved
- Use a commercial lens to make informed decisions and recommendations on the best learning solution to meet the required capability gaps in the most cost-effective way
- Take responsibility for wider stakeholder engagement and the management of all design inputs, including external suppliers for in flow projects
- Design blended learning solutions including assessments and simulations for predominantly technical capability enhancement - for example, Health and Safety content, power tool usage, gas and electrical safety, field-based performance management and team leader support modules
- Produce well planned storyboards, which could include video narratives, scripts that are built into e-learns and trainer/facilitator guides for blended solutions
- Uphold and drive improvements in design quality standards
- Use feedback and post course evaluations to recommend changes to enhance learning collateral and materials
- Deliver Train the Trainer events to colleagues and deliver directly to learners when required

**The Person**:

- Thorough practical working knowledge of learning and development processes & methodologies
- Ability to design and develop innovative and effective learning solutions
- Solid learning project and programme management skills
- Ability to translate defined learning requirements into credible, impactful and effective learning content that demonstrates an effective ROI
- Can demonstrate strong written and visual design skills combined with strong communication and influencing ability
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines in a fast paced ever changing business
- Evidence of working as part of a team and the ability to work largely self-managed
- Effective facilitator and learning coach able to lead an indirect team and provide constructive developmental feedback
- CIPD in Learning and Development would be desirable
