You'll joining the Ashridge Estate project team at an exciting and pivotal point in the Estate's history, with landscape scale strategic plans being developed to help protect, preserve and improve this very special, critical and highly complex conservation asset; whilst also developing the visitor experience and portfolio operating model to be 'fit for the future', sustainable and welcoming for all.
You'll be able to be involved in a variety of projects that will ensure you make a personal and tangible difference to the future of the estate.
(Salary range starts at £30,200 but a higher salary will be considered for strong applicants with good relevant experience)
**What it's like to work here:This vacancy is included in a trial of the ‘Disability Confident’ scheme (level 1).**
We're a small but perfectly forming project team. Working alongside members of the property and portfolio team, regional and national NT specialists, plus commissioned expert consultants. We're shaping Ashridge's future, we're surfacing all that we know about the history, nature and diverse character of this place. We'll be listening to what's important to our visitors, to our staff and our volunteers, ensuring we take the decisions that help us to do 'the right things'.
We work hard and do our best to play our part, whatever experience and work we do. We're 'in it together', look out for each other and offer help when useful to do so, listening, sharing knowledge, thoughts and guidance, with shared beliefs, values and passions but often very different backgrounds, experience and challenges.
We've chosen to be here, to be a part of something special, part of this organisation, to make a difference, for now, for everyone, for ever.
What you'll be doing:You'll engage in a wide range of topics with key interested people, sharing and discussing points of history, nature, current and future challenges. You'll capture the detail as well as the essence, helping to highlight key points, translating these into clear and compelling messages to share with specific audiences.
You'll utilise your project management experience to build clear briefs and scopes of work. You'll facilitate competitive tendering, seek planning permissions and consents, before coordinating the delivery of your projects - on time, to quality and on budget. You'll be responsible for project governance, maintaining accurate project documentation and timely reporting.
You'll use our project framework and have access to technical, financial and project management support to help you deliver and develop during your time in the team.
Some flexibility exists around where you chose to work although we recognise that there will be times and meetings that are best joined in person, other times you may want to be in the office with access to the team or times when focusing from home.
Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you, if you have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including some public presentation experience.
- Excellent people and influencing skills, both externally and internally.
- Experience of records management and information systems.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team sharing learning and ideas.
- Some previous project management involvement and experience.
- Knowledge of budgets, finance, co-ordination of projects and record keeping.
