Content Team Lead, Journals
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid
Contract: 14-month Fixed Term Contract - Maternity cover
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Academic Content Operations team from mid-June, working as a Content Team Lead for the journals department.
**About the role**
As a Content Team Lead, you will support the Head of Content Management to improve working practices and help manage projects, including the overall strategic policies within the team, as we continue to adapt our workflows for Open Research.
You will directly manage 6-7 Content Managers, mentoring and supporting them to perform at their best. This will include regular check-ins, performance and workload management conversations, and acting as a point of contact to triage queries for your team.
You will represent the Journals Content Management team in collaborative projects, as well as maintaining a high-profile list of journals, being responsible for their production from editorial acceptance to final publication, online and in print.
You will liaise on a daily basis with both external contacts (Academic editors and authors) and internal colleagues (Editorial, Content Services, Marketing, Sales and Cambridge Core) to achieve the best results for Cambridge and the Academic community.
**About you**
You will be innovative and organised, as you will have a high volume of content to manage alongside our workflow improvement initiatives.
Being a creative problem solver who embraces change is essential for this role, as well as being able to adapt to challenges with ease.
You will have enthusiasm to trial new workflows and initiatives, along with your excellent communication skills and ability to juggle changing priorities.
You will be a strong leader and collaborator, ideally experienced in mentoring within a previous publishing production role. You will be responsible and able to make decisions under pressure.
With excellent communication skills, you will be comfortable communicating with colleagues at all levels of seniority.
**Rewards and benefits**
We will support you to be at your best in work and to live well outside of it. In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a world-class, flexible rewards package, featuring family-friendly and planet-friendly benefits including:
- Group personal pension scheme
- Discretionary annual bonus
- Life assurance up to 4 x annual salary
- Private medical and Permanent Health Insurance
- Green travel schemes
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
We also offer flexible and hybrid working options from day one. We will consider any work arrangements if you wish to work flexibly or require adjustments due to a disability. We will also consider someone who is able to work 4 days per week for this role, and we can be flexible on which days this would cover.
**Why join us**
- Joining us is your opportunity to pursue potential. You'll belong to a collaborative team that's exploring new and better ways to serve students, teachers and researchers across the globe - for the benefit of individuals, society and the world. Sharing our mission will inspire your own growth, development and progress, in an environment which embraces difference, change and aspiration._
