Working 37.5 hours a week, you will ensure the department upholds a confidential and efficient service in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007). You will also organise a variety of tasks such as referrals, discharges, barringdischarges, renewals, appeals, Mental Health tribunals, ward movements and section changes following the Mental Health legislation.
No two days are the same as you will also be responsible for overseeing service users legal documentation regarding the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007), which includes section paper, section renewals, rights, consent to treatment and MentalHealth Tribunals. Additionally, you will liaise with the Mental Health Act Detention Review Panel to organise convenient dates for renewal/appeal meetings.

**Your key responsibilities will be to**:
- Liaise with external authorities to arrange, process and document information in relation to patient admission, referrals, discharges, barring discharges, renewals, appeals, Mental Health Tribunals, ward movements and section changes.
- Check all legal documentation in relation to patient detention under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007), including section paper, section renewals, rights, consent to treatment and Mental Health Tribunals.
- Maintain patients' clinical records (both electronic and manual) in accordance with Elysium Healthcare procedures, and to ensure the input of valid information in a timely and efficient manner.
- Produce audits as requested by the Administration Manager and MHA Admin Advisor.
- Supervise the work within the Mental Health Act Admin Department.
- Produce statistics for the database for Local Health Authorities, the Mental Health Act Commission and other statutory bodies
**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:
- Demonstrable experience of administration/ office systems
- 4 GCSEs or equivalent (including English)
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007) and associated legislation
- To be able to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure
- Good verbal and written communication
- Ability to use your initiative to plan and prioritise workload
