A FEMALE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT WORKER is required to support a young adult to reintegrate back into the local area.

Applicant must have current experience of working with people who have mental health issues, such as self-harm, emotionally unstable personality disorder, PTSD, and be able to support safety.

Successful applicant would have a three-month probationary period.

A car driver is essential for this role. The position requires the successful applicant to travel with own vehicle as part of their employment, so it would be important to ensure that the insurance provider covers the applicant for business purposes.

The role involves supporting the young adult to re-establish confidence within the family home and surrounding area, after a prolonged time in supportive living/hospital environment.

**DUTIES AND TASKS INCLUDE**:

- Support long distance walks on a daily basis (this can take up to 3 hours),
- Car trips to facilitate activities such as;
going to the cinema, gym, swimming pool and assistance with swimming (getting into the pool with the client and swim alongside), pre-arranged therapy/medical appointments
- Be able to talk confidentially after therapy appointments,
- Support therapeutic activities; such as hair plaiting, colouring, walks etc.
- Support car trips as part of therapy,
- Support with taking medications.

**20 hours per week in total, over 4-5 days (4 hours per day)**

The hours are to be flexible on a week-by-week basis, with the ability to flex to 42 hours in the event of holidays/sickness. How the hours are to be worked will be discussed at the interview stage, with the prospective employer. The hours will involve supporting the young lady during mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights, and working rotas will be given on a weekly basis.

It may also be necessary to work over the hours, to accommodate the young lady’s fluctuating mental health needs, particularly when she is struggling.

The rate of pay is **£13.50 per hour**

**Probationary period**:3 months

The successful applicants for this role will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check; Warrington Borough Council will cover the cost for this.
