Principal Scientist Bioanalytical

**Basic Requirements**:
- BSc in a scientific discipline covering Chemistry (or MSc in a related field)
- Several years of hands-on experience in LC-MS/MS techniques, conducting bioanalysis of small and large molecules within a discovery, development or CRO setting
- Extensive method development expertise for small molecules, peptides and perhaps newer modalities such as Oligonucleotides and Protein-based therapeutics
- Advanced experience in quantitative mass spectrometry analysis of difficult small molecules, peptides, and perhaps Oligonucleotides and Proteins, including supporting sample preparation techniques and chromatography
- Sound knowledge of Pharmacokinetics as applied to in vivo studies within drug discovery/development
- Confident in routine maintenance and troubleshooting in Sciex LC-MS/MS instruments
- Highly motivated team player
- Ability to learn and lead the implementation of new techniques and processes.
- Exceptional communication skills at all levels, internally and externally
- Adaptability to fast-changing project requirements.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Leading a growing team of Bioanalytical scientists, supporting in vivo PK/PD studies, external clients and R&D projects
- Working closely with the head of analytical sciences, with full responsibility for the scientific output of all data generated by the bioanalysis team
- Pivotal in managing and developing the team to keep pace with the demand for bioanalysis services
- Planning and scheduling of the work of the bioanalytical team, adapting to meet rapid turnaround times, with the ability to handle financial aspects
- Some hands-on support in trouble shooting of instrumentation and handling difficult compounds in bespoke studies
- Training, coaching and mentoring of scientists at different levels
- Communicating effectively between departments, contributing to team direction and growth strategy of Analytical Services within the company
- Communicating with clients and stakeholders at all stages of bioanalytical studies.
