**Department**:
As a Research Associate you will be based at the Department of Health Sciences and work with Professor Kamran Siddiqi on tobacco control policy research funded by the Medical Research Council and National Institute for Health Research. The research will aim to inform policies on plain packaging and tobacco taxation in Pakistan in order to reduce tobacco uptake and use in adolescents, thereby improving their health and preventing premature deaths and disabilities in later life.

**Role**:
You will set up, coordinate and manage tobacco control policy research under supervision and contribute to study outputs and contribute to new relevant research proposals.
Your duties will include: analysis and interpretation of research data; use of appropriate research techniques and methods; writing up of research results and dissemination through publications, seminar and conference presentations and public engagement and outreach activities; contributing to the identification of possible new areas of research.
**Skills, Experience & Qualification needed**:
The successful applicant will have a PhD, and track record of applied global health research preferably within the field of tobacco control, along with demonstrated ability to manage projects and generate high quality research outputs. You will have highly developed communication skills to engage effectively with a wide-ranging audience, both orally and in writing, using a range of media. You will also will have the ability to write up research work for publication in high profile journals and engage in public dissemination.
