**Department**:
This post will be based within the Mental Health and Addictions Research Group at the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York. The group includes a team of researchers working on health economic evaluations in mental health and interventions in the field tobacco, alcohol and drug addiction. Recent studies have included economic evaluations of interventions involving e-cigarettes, community alcohol interventions and programmes in mental health and tobacco addiction.

We are looking to appoint a Research Associate with a proven track record in health economics and cost-effectiveness research. The post presents an exciting opportunity to join a large and highly successful multi-disciplinary Department renowned for its methodological expertise and commitment to research with high impact on policy and practice. You will work with theme-lead Steve Parrott and health economists within the group to undertake economic evaluations and cost-effectiveness modelling.

**Role**:
The main purpose of the role is:

- To conduct research under the supervision of senior colleagues and to contribute to the production of research
- To undertake research in health economics, undertaking economic evaluations and decision-modelling in the field of mental health and addiction.
- To assist in the identification and development of potential areas of research and the development of proposals for independent or collaborative research projects

**Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed**:

- PhD in a relevant area or equivalent relevant experience
- A strong working knowledge of health economics
- Highly developed skills in cost-effectiveness analysis and decision-modelling
- Evidence of dissemination of scholarly work which may include: the presentation of papers at conferences and workshops; participation in public engagement events to disseminate research; the publishing of chapters in text books; the publishing of papers; articles or reviews in academic journals or elsewhere.

This is a fixed term post for 24 months.
