Restaurant Bartender

Troubadour is a company that specialises in creating large-scale, flexible installation venues for world-class entertainment and hospitality. At the heart of our newest venue is Songbird, a vibrant, modern restaurant and bar experience nestled within the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre, opening in late October 2025.

We are now seeking experienced and motivated Bartenders to join our opening team at Songbird. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique venue that blends cutting-edge live performance with premium food and drink.

As a Songbird Bartender, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience — from expertly mixing cocktails and pouring wine to engaging with theatre-goers and diners alike in a fast-paced, creative environment.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**BAR OPERATIONS**
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with precision, flair and consistency.
- Maintain a clean, well-organised and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and ensuring accurate par levels across all bar stations.
- Operate EPOS systems efficiently and handle payments accurately.
- Follow all licensing laws, including Challenge 25 protocols.
- Support the setup and breakdown of bar areas during events, service and interval rushes.
- Ensure garnishes, ice, glassware and prep stations are always service-ready.

**GUEST SERVICE**
- Deliver warm, professional and engaging service to all guests — whether dining in the restaurant or visiting the theatre.
- Provide product recommendations and assist with drinks choices, including cocktails, wine, and theatre-themed specials.
- Adapt your service to meet the needs of all guests, including those with access or dietary requirements.
- Maintain a calm and efficient presence during high-volume service periods.

**TEAM SUPPORT & VENUE OPERATIONS**
- Work collaboratively with the wider restaurant, floor and management teams to ensure smooth service.
- Support restaurant service with basic food running and table service during busy periods.
- Assist with special events, pre-show dining and private functions as required.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive and professional working environment.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**REQUIRED**:

- Confident, enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated.
- Good, clear verbal communication skills with a confident ability to engage with both individuals and groups.
- The ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and evenings on a consistent reliable basis.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent timekeeping skills.
- Over 18 years old.

**DESIRABLE**:

- Valid First Aid qualification.
- H&S qualification.
- Allergen Awareness Training
- Previous experience of a similar role in an arts organisation.
- Interest in theatre & the arts.

**Interviews will be held the week commencing 22nd September 2025.**

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £13.85 per hour
