We are looking for professional, confident, motivated individuals with customer service, call centre, hospitality, retail or distribution experience to work as part of our dynamic team.

**Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role**

To meet all customers' and business requirements in the most cost effective, professional, and timely manner whilst achieving a high level of customer service. To provide customers with a quality service for all sales enquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries, and associated administration in the most cost-effective way for Hanson Quarry Products.

**Order Management**:

- Create, alter and confirm new customer orders whether on account, cash sale, silo managed or stock transfer completing all necessary customer order details within the Company's system, such as customer name, billing address, delivery address, customer contact name and telephone number; order date, delivery time, type of product ordered using the material search function to locate the required product, quantity of the product required
- Negotiate realistic delivery times with customers considering other orders on the day and truck availability using the order delivery viewer screen within Hanson's transport management system

**Delivery Management**:

- Comply effectively with the Allocator (Transport Co-Ordinator) Cycle
- Manage deliveries effectively through the load building and planning of packed products deliveries
- Record exceptions daily
- Monitor off duty trucks
- Ensure off duty trucks are not being optimised, and working trucks are on the optimiser
- Respond quickly and appropriately to call request messages
- Record poor performers and report
- Redirect trucks as needed during breakdowns
- Record and report plant breakdowns/loading delays
- Periodically review OEV to get a picture of future orders
- Correct delivery instructions as needed
- Escalate orders that will be late to schedulers
- Assign delivery to truck, in order of time
- Record and report plant breakdowns/loading delays
- Manage specific late deliveries and involve scheduler if necessary

**Skills / Experience**

**Essential**:

- Good level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills
- Allocator cycle knowledge and understanding
- Previous planning experience

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of construction industry and products
- Knowledge of local and national geography.

**Experience**
- Experience - 1 year customer sales/service/operations/transport role

**Time Management/ Leadership Skills**
- Proven capability to build effective working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to use own initiative to improve performance and service.

**The role holder is expected**:

- to comply with all aspects of the Hanson Compliance Policy
- to ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place
- to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation
- to update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required
