**Overview**:
Hawk Furniture is opening a new seating department and are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Seating. As the Head of Seating, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of seating operations, setting up the department as it grows and managing a team of upholsterers and screen operatives.

This is a key leadership role within our organization, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves setting up the department in its early stages, implementing new products and their assembly areas and managing the department moving forward.

**Duties**:
**Furniture Production.**

As the department is starting, the role will include the following:

- Prepare fabric and components for use in upholstery and soft furnishings.
- To be able to use a hand held staple gun, screw gun and other hand tools.
- Maintaining a high level of quality and meeting production efficiency.
- Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery.
- Use machinery including sewing machines to create stitched furniture.

**Department Management**:

- Manage a team of operatives, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Monitor inventory and work with procurement to optimize stock levels.
- Resolve seating related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in seating.
- Set up the work area to suit new product assembly and maximize efficiency.

**Experience**:

- Very good knowledge and experience of upholstery and sewing.
- Experience in using staple guns
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Proficient in computer skills.

Experience in upholstery is mandatory, with management experience desired. Training in all areas can be provided where necessary.
