Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a young male with a Physical Disability living in the Wishaw area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
- Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
- Assisting with medication.
- Preparing meals and healthy snacks and assisting with feeding and drinking.
- Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair, using manual hoist/tracking hoist.
- Household shopping and collecting prescriptions.
- Be happy to travel on public transport.
- Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living.
Favourite activities are watching football or any sports on tv, shopping, music and socialising.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Relevant experience is preferred, but not essential as training will be provided.
Recruiting for 1 position.
Guaranteed permanent position of 37 hours per week
Weekdays: 8am start
Overtime available up to 16 hours for an overnight shift, possibly once a month.
£12.00 per hour.
