**Summary**

We are seeking a Counter Assistant to join our team at The Kandy Bar, West Kilbride. In this role, you will be the face of our bakery, providing excellent customer service while assisting with food preparation and sales. Your contributions will help us maintain our reputation for quality and service.

NORMAL WORKING HOURS
- Monday 10.15-4.15

Tuesday 8.00-2.00 (alternate with Sat)

Friday 8.00-2.00

Saturday 8.00-2.00 (alternate with Tue)

You are required to work both Tuesday and Saturday when your back to back is on holiday. You are also required to work a reasonable amount of overtime to meet the needs of the business eg covering holidays and busy trading periods.

**Responsibilities**
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service at the counter.
- Assist in food preparation and ensure products are displayed attractively.
- Handle transactions accurately using the cash register.
- Upsell bakery items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area and kitchen.
- Follow food safety regulations to ensure product quality and safety.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a customer service or food service role is preferred.
- Strong food preparation skills with knowledge of culinary practices.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively.
- Understanding of food safety standards is essential.
