Pets Choice is a leading FMCG Branded Pet Food and Pet Products Manufacturer with offices and manufacturing sites based in Lancashire, Somerset and South Wales. Our products range from Food & Treats, Toys & Accessories to Animal Health. Our portfolio ofbrands includes: Webbox, Bob Martin, TastyBone, Felight, Spikes, WildThings and Meatiful.
Pets Choice is in a Transformation period having grown from SME to a larger medium sized business. We want to deliver a step change by recruiting leaders who love a challenge, are keen to take ownership, and want to continue to develop with a growing business.
**Responsibilities include**:
- The Procurement department is responsible for purchasing food, ingredients, raw materials, packaging, utilities, workwear and waste management as well as £multi-millions worth of finished goods from the Far East and Europe.
- Lead, coach, inspire and motivate a team of 5.
- Responsible for the creation, implementation and execution of the Procurement strategy.
- Ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing process. Deliver cost savings.
- Focus on continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms.
- Source and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage purchasing budgets.
- Responsible for cost estimating of bought in goods
- Forecast market trends and prices of key products and materials.
- Collate data and report annually on packaging compliance.
- Prepare and publish monthly board reports.
- Continually review environmental strategies which could reduce our waste impact whilst considering cost implications.
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
**Requirements**:
- Proven track record gained from a FMCG Food manufacturing environment.
- Energetic leader with a hands on approach. Ability to engage, manage, coach and develop a team.
- Ability to influence and build strong relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Resilient, optimistic and open to change.
- A 'can do’ attitude and track record of delivering continuous improvement projects and value engineering.
