The successful applicant will be responsible for the transformation of our procurement activities managing a team of people at their site and reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and Aftersales.

Having responsibility for managing the purchasing team, day to day purchasing as well as supporting the implementation of the Supply Chain Strategy for site, special projects, and contract negotiations.

**Extra Information**:
As an individual you must be self-directed, work with a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to solve problems and collaborate with other disciplines to meet the needs of the business, this role will also address strategic sourcing goals, mitigatingrisk, issue escalation and resolution.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Receive input from engineering, production, and service departments; organise, prioritise, delegate, coordinate and monitor purchasing requirements and source parts on time and on cost.
- Excellent computer literacy coupled with strong knowledge of working experience of vendor management software MRP/ERP.
- Manage and lead a team of buyer expeditors to meet department objectives.
- Plan and execute negotiations for both formal tenders and ad-hoc activities ensuring that the Business obtains best value on all its spend.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Strong IT skills including MRP/ERP systems.
- Line management experience for a small team
- Significant purchasing experience at a senior level.
- Proven track record of driving & delivering change.
- Proven track record of significant cost reduction.
