Position: Outreach Youth Worker

Location: Wirral, UK

Hours: Minimum of 9 hours per week (2 evenings per week TBC but flexible on which days)

About Us:
The Hive is a vibrant community youth zone dedicated to empowering young people cross Wirral. We provide a safe, inclusive space where youth can engage in a variety of activities, programs and events that foster personal growth, community involvement, and positive change.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Outreach Youth Worker to join our team. In this role, you will actively engage with young people in the community, encouraging their participation in sessions and events at The Hive and beyond. Your primary goal will be to inspire and motivate youth, fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct outreach activities in various community settings to connect with young people.
- Promote and encourage attendance at The Hive’s sessions and events.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with youth.
- Identify the needs and interest of young people and provide appropriate guidance and support.
- Work collaboratively with The Hive team to plan and deliver engaging activities.
- Drive a small minibus with a team to various locations based on The Wirral.
- Represent The Hive in the community and at events, acting as an ambassador for our mission and values.

Qualifications:

- Experience working with young people in a community setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of Wirral’s diverse communities and their unique challenges.
- Ability to be agile and adaptable in various situations.
- Confidence and enthusiasm in engaging with youth from different backgrounds.
- A valid driver’s licence and confidence driving a small minibus.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all young people.
