Arriva UK Bus are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to support and truly business partner the UKBus Area Operations Directors and Area Head of Operations Team. The main purpose of the role is to understand, provide insight and decision support and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and drive profitability across designated Areas. The role reports to the Head of Finance for Operations.

**Main responsibilities**:

- As an integral part of the Operations team, providing financial insight on opportunities and risks in the delivery of Operational budgets and KPI’s, taking a proactive role in driving actions to mitigate risk and capitalise on opportunities
- Provide robust support and challenge on all Operational projects and business cases
- Provide constructive challenge on Operational costs, benchmarking and understanding best practice to capitalise on opportunities.
- Maintain the Risk & Ops schedule, forecast, budget and MTP plan for Operational costs, including Driver and Fuel spend; and work with the Operations team to set up the strategy for the budget year and outer MTP years
- Liaise with the Shared Service Centre and FP&A on all finance operational issues, and work with these teams to provide regular and relevant reporting to the Operations team
- Ensuring financial integrity within the Operations team and that Arriva’s policies and procedures are adhered to
- Role-model excellent leadership and customer focused behaviours by building robust relationships with the Operations team

**The role requires**:

- Graduate level, qualified accountant with at least 3 years PQE and/or previous experience of business partnering, providing support and insight to functional teams
- Self starter with experience of seeking out opportunities and selling ideas and gaining buy-in from the Business to drive value
- Ability to see the bigger picture as well as willing to get into the detail as required
- Ability to business partner operational leaders within a Business as well as being able to influence all levels within a Business
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
