**Overview of Responsibilities**
**Who are we looking for?**
We are looking for a reliable Department Administrator. As part of your role, you will provide efficient and professional administrative support to the RACE Business Unit, supporting the Executive Assistant in a wide variety of administrative duties, and ensuring the staff has adequate support to work efficiently.
You will be the first point of contact for any general queries and resolving problems or escalating as required, whilst arranging UK and international travel and accommodation for the department team. We are looking for someone who is competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision. You will be self-motivated and trustworthy with good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

**What will you be responsible for?**
- Providing a point of contact for any general queries and resolving problems or escalating
- Supporting with arrangements for onsite meetings: preparing agendas, minute taking and making catering arrangements
- Processing contractor expense claims as per the Authority’s procedures and supporting with the new starters onboarding processes, ensuring the New Starter Checklist is followed
- Ordering and distributing stationery and escalating issues as required.
- Supporting with the recruitment of summer placements and Year in Industry placements
- Performing any other administrative duties commensurate with the grading of this post.

**Qualifications**

Essential skills, experience and competence required*
- Demonstrable administrative experience
- Good IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to cope with multiple tasks and prioritise appropriately
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of administrative tasks
