As a Senior Security Advisor, you will be assigned to a team or organisation with DE&S/SDA where you will drive the appropriate organisational posture to manage security and resilience risks. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of security resilience within your jurisdiction. The management of stakeholder relationships internally and externally will also be another key part of your role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

- Align with relevant regulation, policy, and standards to provide proportional, practical advice, tailored to the strategic environment, and advise relevant stakeholders on any residual risk.
- Develop secure ways of working for your area or organisation, ensuring alignment with Government and industry objectives and standards.
- Make evidence-based decisions on behalf of senior leadership to enable the management of security and resilience risk.
- Engage senior risk owners to escalate issues and/or risks and enable them to make informed decisions on proportionate mitigation.
- Support the management of strategic relationships between your team/organisation and stakeholders across DE&S/SDA, wider MOD, Government, suppliers, and service providers.

**Person specification**:
**Who are we looking for?**
- Previous experience of working within Security Management/Governance or a wider senior security role.
- Prior experience on leading Risk Management.
- Strong Team leadership experience with a record of delivering effective outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders.

It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:

- Professional Security Qualifications at Level 7 (or equivalent) or above.
- MSyI - Membership of Security Institute.
- Chartered Membership of the Security Institute.
