**Trade Counter Assistant**

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Trade Counter Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our trade counter, providing excellent service and support to both trade customers and the general public.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, understanding their needs and providing appropriate product recommendations.
- Develop a strong knowledge base in the plumbing and heating business to effectively assist customers with product selection and technical queries.
- Process customer orders, invoices, and purchase orders accurately and efficiently, utilizing computer systems and software.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and product returns with tact and professionalism, ensuring customer satisfaction and conflict resolution.
- Maintain a clean and organized trade counter area, ensuring product displays are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products to customers.
- Assist in managing inventory levels, conducting stock checks, and replenishing stock as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and competitor offerings to provide customers with the most relevant and up-to-date information.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a trade counter environment.
- Good knowledge of the plumbing and heating business, including a familiarity with various products, brands, and industry terminology.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in using invoicing and inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing customer needs.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
